For the first time the supermarket chain, is now coming \n                to a computer screen across the commercial capital of Mumbai with \n                the Biyani-led venture starting an e-tailing offering bigbazaar.com.<\/p>\n              <div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-sm-6\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.thirdeyesight.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/big-bazaar-online.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid d-block lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\"><\/div>\n              <div class=\"col-sm-6\"><p>Customers who purchase goods through the site are promised delivery \n                at their homes within three business days for a convenience charge \n                of Rs 50 per order if the value is under Rs 500. \u201cWe just \n                launched the e-tailing venture and are experimenting with what \n                products to offer through the portal and how much to charge etc. \n                It\u2019s still in the experimentation stage and learning\u2019s \n                will be gleaned before we scale this beyond the city,\u201d a \n                top Future group official who requested anonymity told Financial \n                Chronicle.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n              <p>The e-tailing venture that promises home delivery of its merchandise \n                across Mumbai could potentially do away with the drudgery of shopping \n                on weekends and take care of the issue of long queues at billing \n                counters on holidays and weekends. It will also allow the Biyani \n                franchise to boost sales without adding real estate and salary \n                costs, said industry experts. \u201cAdding an online interface \n                is the smartest thing to do at a time most retailers are going \n                multi-channel,\u201d said Saloni Nangia, senior vice-president \n                at retail consultancy Technopak Advisors.<\/p>\n              <p>The biggest constituent of Kishore Biyani-owned Future Group \n                will offer potential customers buy non-perishable products right \n                from food and grocery to apparel save for fresh, dairy and frozen \n                products, oil pouches, jams and sauces and loose cereals etc. \n                The e-tailing venture has gone live just before the crucial Independence \n                Day sale, which is one of the biggest revenue earners of Big Bazaar \n                in the year. Big Bazaar will also offer cash on delivery option \n                for this service, which is likely to give serious competition \n                to kirana stores. For orders above Rs 500 in value, there is no \n                delivery charge.<\/p>\n              <p><b>\u201cWhen any company treats its online venture as just an \n                add-on, it does not run very well. The company has to treat it \n                as a different business environment with a clear model to succeed,\u201d \n                said Devangshu Dutta, CEO at consultancy firm Third Eyesight.<\/b><\/p>\n              <p>While the company\u2019s online retail arm, futurebazaar.com \n                is already operational; it has launched new initiatives in the \n                e-commerce space such as SMS short codes, teleshopping proximity \n                marketing through mobile phones. The initiative has helped Future \n                Group, one of the first modern retailers to move into digital \n                commerce in a big way.
