NITRA \n Technical Campus, the academic wing of NITRA, organized a seminar \n on Emerging Trends in Fashion and Retail Industry on 5th April\u201914 \n at India International Centre, New Delhi. Keeping in view the \n strong desire of today\u2019s youth to work in fashion and retail \n sectors and to familiarize them with the emerging trends in these \n sectors, the seminar was specifically designed for the students \n of textile and fashion colleges pursuing UG and PG level programs.<\/p>\n
Mr. Sanjay Jain, Vice-chairman, NITRA and MD, TT Group, graced \n the occasion as session chairman. The seminar was enriched by \n the presence of well renowned and seasoned speakers from fashion \n and retail industry from India and UK. <\/p>\n
About 200 students and faculty members from leading institutes \n of Northern India attended the seminar. <\/p>\n
In his address, Dr. Arindam Basu, Director General, NITRA, welcomed \n the speakers and delegates and spoke on the present scenario of \n Indian fashion and retail industry and the future prospects of \n these sectors.<\/p>\n
Sh. Sanjay Jain, while conducting the session, emphasized on \n the growing prominence and potential of home-brands in India\u2019s \n fashion-retail market. He also acknowledged its valuable contribution \n to build and strengthen \u2018Brand India\u2019 in the global \n perspective and thereby opening job opportunities in the country.

The presentation session was breathtaking. Tarang G. Saxena, \n senior engagement leader with Third Eyesight deliberated on global \n fashion brands in Indian retail,<\/b> followed by well-known productivity \n & lean management consultant Pooja Makhija, who opened up \n the nuances of new-age merchandising for fashion industry. Victoria \n Markham, senior lecturer with MMU, UK demystified merchandising \n both as an art and science. Following these, Vivek Agarwal, Asst. \n Director & Dean \u2013 Management, NITRA presented the activities \n of NITRA and NTC with special focus on its flagship management \n program PGDM in Fashion-Retail Management.

He also spoke about this program\u2019s tie-up with Manchester \n Metropolitan University, UK and the lucrative career that students \n are likely to embrace on completion of this program. Finally, \n the CEO of Luxury Connect, Abhay Gupta provided a lively presentation \n on potential of luxury retailing in India . An interactive panel \n discussion and Q&A with professionals of tomorrow in the audience \n ensured that the seminar was of immense benefit to the young students.
